I may cut an album just for fun, says Alia Bhatt

Earlier this year, Parineeti Chopra made her singing debut in Meri Pyaari Bindu. She played an aspiring singer in the film and sang a few songs. Pari has often stated that she is keen to cut an album and do live shows. Even Shraddha Kapoor is singing in more films and sang live for Rock On 2. Their contemporary, Alia Bhatt made her singing debut first, but isn’t keen to go down that road.

‘It’s very difficult’

Alia says, “I don’t have the talent to sing live. I think it’s very difficult. Also, I have an issue. I cannot sing with music behind me, I can only sing without music because I get confused with music playing around me. So, I don’t know about singing live. But again, I believe, ‘Never say never’. Someday, I may end up doing that.”

‘It won’t be a career move’

Alia may consider cutting an album someday. “Cutting an album will be something that I may do for fun, but that won’t be the main focus in my career. Even if I do it, it will be out of my passion or love for singing and nothing else. It won’t be a career move. I want to concentrate mainly on acting,” she says.

What’s next?

She has sung Samjhawan in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Sooha Saaha in Highway and a special verson of Ikk Kudi from Udta Punjab. She’s now gearing up for Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi. Will she take the music route again? She says, “Nothing’s planned as of now. But all these things have always sprung up for me at the last moment, so I have no idea right now.”
