It’s the season for party anthems. One of them is Saturday Night from the movie Jhootha Kahin Ka — a club banger that has been crooned by Neeraj Sridhar and Jyotica Tangri. Neeraj says about the duet, “It’s always such a good experience to sing with someone you haven’t sung before. Same was the case with Jyotica. I think she has done a great job on the number. Amjad Nadeem and Aamir have also made such an energetic and good song.”

While it wasn’t difficult for the composer and singer-songwriter to render the track, he emphasises the need to stand out in every number. He says, “You need to have that attitude within you and understand the song. You also need to have the capability to do something different. Or, every party song will sound the same. You have to put in your own style that sets you apart from the others.”

We asked him which are his favourite dance numbers in Bollywood ever and he said, “Sooraj Dooba Hai from the movie Roy (Arijit Singh and Aditi Singh Sharma) was a beautiful track. I really like the composition, Twist, which I sang in Love Aaj Kal as well as Tumhi Ho Bandhu from Cocktail. Char Baj Gaye from F.A.L.T.U is another fun and dance track that can get one grooving.”

There have been tonnes of club songs that have released in Bollywood since forever. Is there a ditty that he wishes he had composed or sung? “No, there is no such track that I wish I had rendered or made. But I’d certainly like to remake Yeh Chand Sa Roshan Chehra from the film Kashmir Ki Kali.”
