Remix of old tunes is the easiest way to garner audience attention! Almost every filmmaker is cashing on nostalgia in their films these days and even makers of 'Baadshaho' are no different.

Milan Luthria's upcoming film had remixed the song 'Keh Doon Tumhe' and picturised it on Esha Gupta and Emraan Hashmi. Caught in a legal soup, the makers are now forced to remove the song from their film. According to Mid-Day report, in a judgement passed by the division bench of the Mumbai High Court yesterday, filmmaker Rajiv Rai won the case against Bhushan Kumar's music company. The verdict stated that the makers of Baadshaho cannot use the song, which was originally part of 1975 film Deewar.

Rai's Trimurthi Films own the copyright of the song and lyrics of the original song 'Keh Doon Tumhe' composed by RD Burman and penned by Sahir Ludhianvi. Rajiv Rai said,"When you make a song, you sometimes give the remix rights to the music company. But, in this case, we had not given the rights to Polydor. So when T-Series took the remix rights from Universal, the company told them categorically that if Trimurti Films sues them, they will have to fight it out. It's not just a fight for me, but for all producers in Bollywood."

This is not the only song from Rai's production that has been recreated in recent films. Mohra's song 'Tu Cheez Badi' was recreated by makers of 'Machine' and Tridev's 'Oye Oye' was used in 'Azhar' recently. Rajiv Rai is upset about the fact that no one bothered to take permission from him or pay his dues. But he has won the legal battle against Baadhshaho makers and the song has now been dropped. Bhushan Kumar confirmed this saying, " "We've always bought recreation rights from the respective music companies. This is the first time that the rights were fractured. We have dropped the song from the movie and pulled it down from all networks."

Baadshaho is all set for release on September 1st.
