A lot has been happening on the front of popular TV soap Ishqbaaz. The show's producer Gul Khan had recently confirmed that it will take a generation leap, post which Nakuul Mehta will essay the character of Shivaay and Anika (played by Surbhi Chandna)'s son. She also shared that they're looking for a new female lead opposite him. This sparked off massive rage on social media, with speculations of Surbhi Chandna's exit from Ishqbaaz doing the rounds. Gul also had to face a lot of backlash from the fans on social media.

While the die-hard fans of the show have been trending #NoSurbhiNoIshqbaaz on social media platforms, Surbhi has not explicitly said anything on the matter as of now. Reportedly, Anika's character will die in the show and the fans are visibly upset with that. The producer Gul Khan told IWM that Surbhi wasn't too keen on playing a mother so early on in her career.

On seeing the massive support of her fans, Surbhi finally took to her Instagram stories to acknowledge it. Though, she did not express her thoughts on the matter, she just wrote, "Thankyou for your Patience. Shall Speak Soon #calming breeze your way (sic)"

Further talking about why did the makers decide to replace the pair in the show, Gul told IWM, "Simply because it’s not working! In the last 5 months the ratings and time spent on the show has been dismal! 1.5 tvr and 11 minutes of time spend! For a show to stay on air, you need minimum 15 to 17 minutes of TSV (time people spend watching one episode). So clearly people are not watching enough for it to survive!"
