Hema Malini is an achiever and she continues to set goals for herself even at the age of 70.  However, what is most important to note is the fact that between all her work assignments, the septuagenarian makes time to play with her grandchildren. Her granddaughter Radhya is the one who gets Hema to herself each morning. The filmmaker-MP says, “Subah subah aate hain... The little girl comes and plays with me. Lipstick nikaal nikaal ke mere haathon mein lagati hai, she wants to even put it on my face. When I’m doing my make-up in the morning, she must sit on my lap. She also wants my purse. It is because of her that I’m carrying a small one. I also remind myself to keep the purse super-light. Earlier, she would hang the bigger handbag around her neck. And, if it was heavy, she would have difficulty balancing and would eventually fall. So, I’ve started using a smaller bag with lesser stuff inside it. I keep only the most important things in it, so Radhya can string it around and have fun.’’

Speaking of her grandson Darien (Ahana’s son), Hema affectionately adds, “He won’t touch anything from my make-up kit. Nor is he drawn to my hand-bag. He is fully into my mobile phone. He looks for it, takes it and runs off. He wants to see cartoons on it because his mother doesn’t let him use the phone. He comes and says very sweetly, “Nani nani, give me the silver phone, no.’’ Hema admits that spoiling her grandchildren is her guilty pleasure.
