Latest we hear is that Sara Ali Khan is all set to play the role of Irrfan Khan's daughter Pia in the sequel of Hindi Medium. We already knew that the the sequel of Hindi Medium will go on floors in August this year. While Irrfan will continue to reprise his role of Raj Batra in the sequel, the maker are keen to sign Sara Ali Khan as his his teenage daughter. According to a source close to Mumbai Mirror, “The makers are really keen on Sara who is the daughter of Saif Ali Khan, Dinesh’s former business partner who collaborated with him on films like Being Cyrus, Love Aaj Kal, Agent Vinod, Cocktail, Go Goa Gone and Happy Ending. Her mother, Amrita Singh, has played the principal of the English medium Delhi Grammar School in the original.”
When the tabloid got in touch with Dinesh Vijan, he said, “I have just finished the script and I am going to get into the casting now.” The film will be produced by Vijan and T-series head honcho Bhushan Kumar and will be a fresh take on the Indian educational system with reference to the first film.
DNA After Hrs earlier reported that even Ashutosh Gowariker is keen to sign her for his next. Ashu has indeed evinced an interest in casting Sara opposite Arjun Kapoor in his next film, which is a historical based on the three battles fought between the 16th and 18th centuries. A source said, “Before the young actress paid Ashu a visit, the latter had dropped by on his good friend Abhishek Kapoor. He saw some rushes of the love story, Kedarnath, which features Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara. The Jodhaa Akbar director came away mighty impressed with her screen presence and performance. So, he wants to cast her in his own movie.” Ashutosh has already roped in Sanjay Dutt for a principal part for the same film.
Incidentally, Sara is bound by a contract with the makers of Kedarnath specifying that this would be her debut vehicle, which is due for release in December, 2018 as of now.
