Has Deepika Padukone turned down the offer of playing Ranveer Singh's wife in '83'?

The one question that Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have been asked the most since their marriage is when will they reunite on the big screen. But, it seems their fans will have to wait a little longer.

Deepika was apparently offered the role of Kapil Dev's wife Romi in '83'. Considering Ranveer is playing the cricket legend in the film, Deepika's choice was obvious. But, as per a latest report in Deccan Chronicle, the female superstar has turned down the offer since she didn't have much to do in the film. 

A source from the production team informed the daily, “’83 is a boys’ films. The focus is on  Kapil Dev and his team bringing home the World Cup. Ranveer plays Kapil Dev. While Deepika playing his wife Romi sounds tempting, it’s just not true. Kapil Dev’s wife’s role will be very limited in this film and Deepika is a huge brand. She wouldn’t do any film just because her husband is in it.”

Deepika and Ranveer have always maintained that they will co-star again in a film only if the project is worthy of their presence. They have earlier given three hits together -'Ram Leela', 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Padmaavat'. Co-incidentally all three were with Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
