Sonu Sood, Arjun Rampal, Gurmeet Choudhary and Harshvardhan Rane, who play pivotal roles in JP Dutta’s upcoming war drama Paltan, came together to celebrate Independence Day and commemorate the spirit of brotherhood and patriotism. The Zee Studios Production is based on the 1967 Indo-China military clashes at Nathu La along the Sikkim border. It pays homage to the indefatigable spirit of the Indian soldiers who fought with their comrades till the end. It completes JP’s war trilogy after Border (1997) and LOC Kargil (2003). Paltan releases on September 7.
Arjun said, “We need to learn from the soldiers who belong to different races but stand together throughout their duty at the war zone. We must be grateful for the sacrifices they make leaving behind their families to protect the nation.” Gurmeet Choudhary, who plays Captain Prithvi Singhdagar, agrees, “Paltan shows the family that our soldiers form beyond blood relations. It’s a different level of mindset where they think of the country before themselves.”
After the trailer, the makers released a song Paltan O Paltan that portrays how fighters dedicate their bodies and souls to the service of the country. Talking about India’s victory, JP said, “In 1962, the Chinese started the war, and in 1967, we ended it. It’s an important part of our history.”
