AR Rahman turns 51 today. The musician from Madras who has redefined music scene in Bollywood as well as film industry down south continues to charm us with his music. 

India's Oscar winning music composer kick started his career with Mani Ratnam's Tamil film, Roja and rest as they say is history. No just in India, Mozart of Madras has worked with several Hollywood filmmakers and with international artists too. In his formative years, A R Rahman worked as a keyboardist in the troupe of Ilaiyaraaja and this is when he penned his first composition. From a keyboardist to an award-winning musician, Rahman has come a long way. From Bollywood films like Lagaan, Swades, Taal, Rockstar to Hollywood productions like ‘Elizabeth – The Golden Age’, ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, ‘Couples Retreat’, ‘127 Hours’, People Like Us, the Chinese movie, ‘Warriors of Heaven & Earth’ and more recently ‘The 100 Foot Journey’, ‘Million Dollar Arm’ & ‘Pele’, Rahman has given many chartbuster albums.
