Gulzar spoiles his Tennis gang with sweets

Super-acclaimed and award-winning poet, author and filmmaker Gulzar still catches up with his tennis gang every morning at Mumbai’s Bandra Gymkhana. Though the octogenarian doesn’t play tennis very regularly, he makes it a point to drive to the Gym and hang out with the boys after his morning walk.  His friends are all seniors who have a penchant for the game and most of them also have a sweet tooth. Well, Gulzar plies them with the best mithai from all over India because his many fans keep sending him sweets, which he is happy to share.

And when the friends have tooth trouble, they have a dentist in their midst called Dilip Shetye who they happily trot to.  In fact Gulzar and his dentist doctor are tennis partners.  And both are also patrons of the arts.  So besides the sport, they also enjoy the occasional play or poetry recital together also.
