The makers of Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu have unveiled the first song titled Gold Tamba from the film and it's gotten us in the mood for some merriment on a gloomy cloudy day. The song has been shot against the backdrop of a market place in a small town of Uttarakhand, with all the vibrant colours that it has to offer.

To begin with, Gold Tamba is extremely easy-on-the-eyes with so many hues occupying almost every single frame. Shahid Kapoor's easy breezy chemistry with his leading lady Shraddha is to watch out for as the duo match their hook steps in sync, grooving to the peppy and upbeat number.

At times, the song may bring back memories of Shahid's immensely popular song Gandi Baat but we're not sure if Gold Tamba will be able to recreate the success of the fomer song. Don't get us wrong, Gold Tamba is serious and hilarious in equal measures (thanks to the lyrics by Siddharth and Garima), but we do hope that the signature step wasn't so stiff as both Shahid and Shraddha are fab dancers.

Speaking of dance, we're so glad to see Shahid finally put on his dancing shoes this year. We earlier saw him playing the royal majesty Maharawal Ratan Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat, (which left no scope for him to hit the dance floor) but now that Shahid's back at doing what he does best, we're all geared up to ape his steps and expressions too.

Shraddha's charming smile and cutesy facial expressions work pretty well given the mood and feel of the song. Also, we're totally digging her hairdo and clothes in the song. We like we like!

Gold Tamba song has been crooned by Nakash Aziz and composed by Anu Malik

Batti Gul Meter Chalu also stars Yami Gautam and Divyendu Sharma in significant roles. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on September 21 this year.
