Movie business is all about good looking people...fit and fashionable stars who inspires millions of fans across the globe. And while we are used to seeing their pictures outside a gym or a glimpse of their eight pack abs and svelte figure, here are a few actors who dared to put on weight for the roles. For them it was an opportunity to eat 'unhealthy', equivalent to being a professional hazard . Extremely tough for some, as they aren't fit to sign any new film till they loose weight again.

Rajkumar Rao is the new chameleon in b-town. He broke the internet with his new look for Bose. As for the role of Subhash Chandra Bose in web series directed by Hansal Mehta, Rao has gained 11 kgs and eaten unhealthy stuff to develop that huge pot belly. Quite contrast to his last two releases, in Trapped he had to look famished and lose 8 kgs and for Behen Hogi Teri he worked out on his hot bod for those six pack abs. In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, he confessed that he is usually asked to lose weight for the parts and was delighted to gain extra kilos for Bose. Rajkumar Rao said, "I have been binging on pizzas, Bengali sweets and junk food for a month and a half and will continue this routine till August." I decided that I wanted to see the character whenever I looked in a mirror and not Rajkumar." And he has surely attained that.

The perfectionist, Aamir Khan. The actor who is known for undergoing transformation for his characters each time, we still remember his six pack abs and shaved off head for Ghajini, and then eight pack abs for Dhoom 3. But Dangal remains one of his most dramatic makeover so far. He gained and lost weight for the same film. But the actor had his strategy in place, he shot for those portions in the film where he is playing an ageing father, pot bellied and weighing 97 kilos and later shot for those portions where he plays a young wrestler in the film. Aamir Khan said, " I wanted to keep a target for myself to lose weight." He even talked about how his mother was worried about his health as he he developed breathing problems and his body language changed. It took 5 months for the actor to get back in shape again.

Salman pot bellied Sultan. Salman Khan too portrayed the role of an ageing wrestler and had one important scene in the film where he is shown as an overweight ageing wrestler who looks in the mirror and pities himself. Filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar remembers convincing Salman Khan, the fittest actor in bollywood to stop working out for sometime and look like that. He remembers how Sallu bhai was uncomfortable and took time to prepare himself for the shot and immediately after shooting the scene went back to working out vigorously.

Not just these three men, two leading ladies also dared to take up this challenge and whoa it was totally worth it.

Bhumi Pednekar debuted as an obese women from Haridwar in Dum Laga Ke Haisha. She was complete opposite to what a Yash Raj heroine is expected to look like and it paid off. Bhumi used to joke about being paid to eat and act for her debut film. But immediately after the release of the National Award winning film was seen 30 kilos down and prepared for movie career ahead.

Vidya Boombaat Balan's life changing film was The Dirty Picture where she played the role of voluptuous Silk. In a role of sex siren, Vidya Balan flaunted her curves and her additional 12 kilos. And rest as they say is history
