The first look teaser of the film is out already...
Finally! It has been confirmed that Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan are coming together in the film titled The Zoya Factor. The movie is said to be based on a book by the same name by Anuja Chauhan. Speculations about Sonam and Dulquer teaming up for the project have been rife for quite sometime now.
Now it's official that the two are collaborating for the film which is supposed to be a romcom against the backdrop of Cricket. The movie is supposed to be directed by Abhishek Sharma.
While interacting with Mumbai Mirror, Abhishek had shared, "Cricket woven into a rom-com and touching on superstition and luck, it’s an amazing book for a screen adaptation. The book has many layers, characters and tracks.”
He further informed the tabloid that the makers always had Sonam in mind for playing the bubbly character of Zoya. Sonam was sent an autographed copy of the book after he saw Neerja. While Sonam will be playing the protagonist Zoya in the film, Dulquer will be seen essaying the role of Nikhil Khoda, the Captain of Indian Cricket team.
As per the book, Dulquer's character hails from the north, in the film, he will be from the south. The director decided to have Dulquer on board after watching the trailer of OK Kanmani. He was quoted as saying by the tabloid, "I knew immediately that this was the boy we were looking for."
Sonam and Dulquer will begin shooting for the film in August and it will hit the theatres on April 5, 2019.
