First Look: TV actress Mouni Roy joins Akshay Kumar on the sets of 'Gold'

After wooing the TV audience for a long time,Mouni Roy is all set to begin her Bollywood journey.  Reports suggest that Salman Khan promised to launch her, but since that couldn't happen he introduced her to Akshay Kumar who roped in Mouni for his upcoming film. The Naagin actress has signed Akshay Kumar's film Gold and has now begun shooting for the film as well. The pictures of Mouni and her superstar co-star went viral, where the two are seen dressed in retro look for their period film.

The film is based on the historic 1948 Summer Olympics hockey match in which India won its first gold medal as a free nation. Gold is directed by Reema Kagti, of Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd and Talaash fame and is set for December 2018 release. The film also stars Kunal Kapoor in the lead. Recently Akki began shooting for the film in London and shared the first look of his character in the film.

Apart from Gold, reports are abuzz that Mouni Roy will also be seen in Salman' brother-in-law Ayush Sharma's launch film as well
