Few days before their first wedding anniversary, Shweta Basu Prasad and Rohit Mittal announce separation

Shweta Basu Prasad, who is a popular actor had tied the knot with filmmaker Rohit Mittal after four years of courtship. The couple were living in together for two years and entered marital bliss on December 13, 2018. They got married as per both Bengali and Marwari rituals. Although it was a private affair, photos and videos from their wedding festivities instantly went viral on the Internet. But as it's said not all stories mend to have happy endings, Shweta and Rohit's marriage has also come to an end.

Shweta took to her Instagram page and made this announcement with a statement which read as "Hi everyone, Rohit Mittal and I have mutually decided to part our ways and end our marriage. After months of contemplation, we arrived at this decision a few months ago in each others’ best interest, as individuals. Not every book is supposed to be read cover to cover, that doesn’t mean the book is bad, or one can’t read, some things are just best left unfinished. Thank you Rohit for the irreplaceable memories and always inspiring me. Have a great life ahead, forever your cheerleader."

Rohit also posted the same statement on his Instagram story with a caption stating, "To new beginnings".
