Fan who considered Sridevi as his wife, pays unique tribute to the star

Out of his love for Sridevi, Omprakash Mehra from Madhya Pradesh never married in his life.

There are all kinds of fans of Sridevi and then there is Omprakash Mehra from Madhya Pradesh.

After the sudden and shocking demise of the Bollywood superstar, Omprakash Mehra of Daduni village of Sheopur in Madhya Pradesh organised a prayer meet, invited everyone for memorial service and lunch. He also shaved his head as per Hindu rituals.

Kunjbihari Jaat, former sarpanch of Daduni said, "My friend Omprakash was in love with Sridevi since 22 years. He considered her to be his wife. This is why he never got married. He invited 51 girls for 'Kanya Bhoj' after Sridevi passed away."

BP Rawat, another friend of Omprakash said, "On March 11, 2018, my friend organised the Kanya Bhoj at the Gupteshwar temple. Omprakash fell in love with Sridevi when he was just a student. He has watched her films multiple times. He had also vowed to only marry her."

Rawat also revealed that when Ompraksh's mother passed away, he did not follow the ritual of shaving head after the demise of a loved one. But he did that for Sridevi.

Omprakash Mehra completed the Hindu rituals that are followed on day three after someone passes away. Then he organised the lunch for 51 girls. After that, he invited the whole village for the memorial service.

Sridevi passed away in Dubai on February 24 due to 'accidental drowning' in her hotel bathtub following the loss of consciousness. The actress was in Dubai to attend a family wedding.

She is survived by her daughters Janhvi and Khushi and husband Boney Kapoor.
