'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga' to be included in Oscars library, Sonam Kapoor overwhelmed

Sonam Kapoor's previous film Sanju was also part of Oscars Library

Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga, which released in theatres on February 1st, has been gaining all acclaims. Adding to the excitement, the latest reports suggest that film's screenplay will be included in The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Library. The people working for Academy, more commonly known as the Oscars, are the ones who requested the makers of the film for a copy of the screenplay to be added to the permanent Core Collection.

Ever since the trailer of the film released, Sonam Kapoor has been lauded for portraying the character and the filmmakers were appreciated for playing it so sensitively. The actress is obviously “overwhelmed” with the response to the film.

She said in a statement, "It is my first movie with my father and also because it has a strong message that deserves to be told. I'm really happy that it was selected to be part of the Oscar library and I'm overwhelmed by the kind of love audiences have showered on the film."

The library, which is open to all students, filmmakers and writers as well as those with general interests, boasts of many copies of films. Sonam’s previous movie Sanju as well as producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Broken Horses have made their way to The Academy's library.

The movie also featured Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Rajkummar Rao. It was the first time when Sonam and Anil featured in a movie together. Directed by Shelly Chopra Dhar, the film collected Rs. 19 crores at the box office till date.
