Did you know? Varun Dhawan-Alia Bhatt's 'Kalank' has a '2 States' connect

The makers of Kalank unveiled it's first teaser poster and announced its huge ensemble cast on Wednesday. The film boasts of a huge and impressive star cast including Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Sanjay Dutt. The film begins its official journey on Wednesday, i.e.,  April 18, 2018 and will hit the silver screens exactly a year later on April 19, 2019. But did you know that this very fact related to Kalank has a connect with Alia and Arjun Kapoor starrer 2 States? 

Well, turns out that there are quite a few things that are related between Kalank and 2 States. For started, both the films are directed by Abhishek Varman and produced by Karan Johar and Sajid Nadiadwala. Next, Kalank goes on floors on the same date (April 18) when 2 Stated had hit the theatres four years back. 

Sharing his excitement, Sajid Nadiadwala said, "18th April 2014, 2 States had released. 18th April 2018 KALANK begins its journey. This multi starrer with a story will cross all borders, under the capable direction of Abhishek Varman. It be historic in the true sense of the word. I am genuinely happy to be back with the team Fox Star and Karan Johar. This film is special to all of us!”

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also took to his Twitter account to share the connect between Kalank and 2 States.

The film will also reunite Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit Nene on the silver screens after a long hiatus. Those who're caught uninitiated, Kalank is actually the renamed film with Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt's film which was initially titled Shiddat.
