Sridevi last shot for Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming release titled Zero...
The entire country has been mourning the sudden and tragic demise of its first female superstar, Sridevi, since the past four days. The actress, who has entertained the pan-India audience through over 300 films in her career spanning five decades. The actress has done films in not just Hindi, but also Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages.
Not many are aware of the fact that Sridevi has collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan for only one film titled Army. Moreover, many don't even know that had all gone well, Sridevi may have been a part of two huge hit films of SRK.
Let us give you the details. turns out that Sridevi was offered two films with Shah Rukh in the past but the actress had reportedly, rejected them both. One of them was Baazigar. A report on BollywoodLife suggests that initially, Sridevi was to play a double role in the film but later the directors Abbas-Mustan felt a little apprehensive of having Sridevi on board, thinking that the viewers may not be able to sympathise with Shah Rukh's character if he kills her in the film. So the role was written again and two fresh faces, Shilpa Shetty and Kajol were taken in the film.
The next film with Shah Rukh that Sridevi rejected was Darr. Turn out that the actress was offered Juhi Chawla's character in the film but she rejected it since she felt she had played similar characters before. The report quoted her as saying in an earlier interview, "After Chandni and Lamhe, I feel Darr would have been an ordinary character for me. If I’m playing Shah Rukh Khan’s role, then of course, I would have loved to do it. The character Juhi played was new for her and so it was good for her. But for me, it was something I had done many times before."
Rumour mills were busy churning that the actress was putting her foot down because of her arrogance while others suggested that she was simply looking for roles that suited her position and calibre. Turns out that the actress will be seen on the silver screens for the last time in a cameo in Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film with Aanand L Rai titled Zero, which is slated to hit the theatres in December this year.
