Sonam Kapoor is all set to walk the red carpet tonight at Cannes Film Festival...
It's going to be about a week since B-Town's very own fashionista Sonam Kapoor tied the knot to her businessman beau Anand Ahuja in a traditional Sikh ceremony. While we've been totally crushing on the attention to detail in each and every attire that the couple sported for their wedding functions, we're completely bowled over by the way Sonam gave a contemporary twist to the traditional mangalsutra that the new bride is supposed to wear. Much like her ensembles and accessories, Sonam gave a personal touch to her mangalsutra by getting her and Anand Ahuja's star signs embedded by the sides of a solitaire in between.
We caught a glimpse of Sonam's sacred thread in the recent pictures shared by her and Anand on their respective Insta stories. Those, who're uninitiated, Sonam is currently in the French Riviera where she will be seen walking the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival 2018 later at night. The actress was missing hubby Anand soon after landing in Cannes and so she shared a picture with him and wrote, "Miss my guy". In the picture, the actress can be seen clad in a beautiful lilac saree, wearing her sacred thread.
Anand Ahuja too had shared a picture of the two of them together with an adorable message for wifey. He wrote, "So proud and motivated by you and your team of hard working, super talented and overall glamorous girls. Best of luck at Cannes." This picture too had Sonam wearing her mangalsutra.
While Sonam's mangalsutra does have the traditional black beads, the actress gave it a personal touch by getting the star signs of her and her hubby studded in it along side a solitaire. The designer Usheeta Rawtani shared a picture of the mangalsutra on her Instagram account and we can clearly see Sonam's star sign Gemini on the left and Anand's star sign Leo on the right of the solitaire in the sacred thread. Usheeta also mentioned in the Instagram post that this mangalsutra was specially designed by the bride herself.
