While Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-awaited film 'Padmaavat' continues to fight controversies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu were apparantly welcomed by students' performance to Deepika Padukone's controversial song 'Ghoomar'.

While Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-awaited film 'Padmaavat' continues to fight controversies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israel PM Benjamin Netanyahu were apparantly welcomed by students' performance to Deepika Padukone's controversial song 'Ghoomar'.
According to Scroll report, Padmaavat song was played at a cultural event organised in Ahmedabad which was attended by PM Modi and Netanyahu in Ahmedabad, while the state government had banned the film in the state. Earlier Karni Sena workers had vandalised a school in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh were students performed to GhoomaAfter the incident was reported to Madhya Pradesh home minister Bhoopendra Singh, had told ANI, “MP govt banned #Padmaavat, people shouldn’t even play songs of it. If someone plays a banned song, it must be reported to police & not take matter in your own hands. Action to be taken against culprits.”

Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles,Padmaavat has been facing protest from Rajput community even before the trailers were out. Based on Mohammad Jayasi's poem Padmavat, fringe groups have been asking for a nation wide ban. Even after Supreme Court on Thurday morning has suspended the ban declared by Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana.
The film which was orginially slated for a release in December last, year is all set for January 25 worldwide release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
