Did you know? Irrfan Khan's Blackमेल is inspired by a real-life couple!

As soon as the trailer of Blackmail released, the plot twist of Irrfan Khan's reaction on catching his wife in bed with her lover had an unusual reaction.He resorts to blackmailing his wife and her lover instead of killing either of them. 

Interestingly the story is inspired by a real-life couple. The plot, writer Parveez Shaikh shared, "The story is based on a couple I know. They live outside Mumbai. I decided to place these characters in a city I know best and see how the story progresses from there." 

He further added "It took me three months to finish the first draft of the story. I had written it six years ago." Recreating the magic of the genre post-Delhi Belly, Abhinay Deo is back with a quirky comedy movie Blackमेल. 

This is the second quirky comedy movie of director Abhinay Deo post his debut movie Delhi Belly. Social media was abuzz, praising Irrfan for his portrayal of the "perfect middle-class married man" who loses his sanity to get back at his cheating wife. 

Blackमेल stars  Irrfan, Kirti Kulhari, Arunoday Singh, Divya Dutta, Omi Vaidya and a rich ensemble cast Blackमेल is directed by Abhinay Deo, and is slated to release on April 6, 2018.
