Filmmaker Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar's first collaboration 'Simmba' is raising our expectations with every new addition in the cast. After revealing the posters of Ranveer Singh in the role of a cop, the makers of also announced the name of Sara Ali Khan as the leading lady in the film.

The villain's casting is still on and unexpected names have been popping for the same. SpotboyE revealed that R Madhavan is likely to join the cast of Simmba. Before Rohit Shetty decided to offer him the part of a baddies, they were hoping to cast Abishek Bachchan. Yes, the actor who is currently shooting for Anurag Kashyap's 'Manmarziyaan' was offered to play the role of villain in 'Simmba'. 

Rohit has earlier directed him in a comedy film, 'Bol Bachchan' in 2012 and was keen to give him a negative role which he hasn't played so far. KJo expected Junior Bachchan to say yes to the part but the actor took them by surprise and said no. 

Abhishek is back to movies after a break of two years and apart from Manmarziyan, will also be seen in Sajid Khan's 'Housefull 4' with Akshay Kumar. 

Meanwhile, DNA After Hrs had earlier reported that Ajay Devgn will also be a part of 'Simmba'. As per the sources, “Rohit wanted someone to play a special character, so he decided to approach Ajay, who will have an interesting part in Simmba’s climax. Every time Rohit plans a film, Ajay is the first one he bounces off his ideas to. In fact, he was the one who felt Ranveer would be ideal for this movie.” Apparently, Ajay gave his nod immediately when Rohit approached him for the cameo.

Reliance Entertainment presents, Rohit Shetty Picturez and Dharma Productions’ Simmba is slated to release worldwide on December 28, 2018
