This is definitely the most well-kept secret of Thugs Of Hindostan. Amitabh Bachchan has sung a soulful lullaby in the film that highlights his character Khudabaksh’s relationship with Zafira, played by Fatima Sana Shaikh. Khudabaksh, who is a father figure to Zafira, vows to protect her. Though what happens to her parents is not revealed in the trailer, it’s obvious that she is mentored by him.

In the scene, Khudabaksh will be seen trying to put Zafira, who fights the brutal memories of her past, to sleep. “Mr Bachchan was moved while filming this shot and decided to lend his voice to the number. Moreover, he recorded it himself and that, too, at his home! The initial idea was to make it a short cradle song, but he went a step further and converted it into a full-fledged track,” reveals the source.

While Ajay-Atul have composed it, the lyrics have been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Big B says, “The song tells you the depth of the bond that Zafira and Khudabaksh share. I was excited to sing a lullaby because it isn’t every day that you get to render one. The lyrics are beautiful and the composition highlights the emotional journey of these two characters. I’ve been asking Adi (producer Aditya Chopra) to incorporate it into the soundtrack. I’m sure he will do it because it has turned out to be a beautiful song.”
