After winning hearts with the melodious title track 'Dhadak' and topping music charts with 'Zingaat', Karan Johar dropped the third song of Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor's much-anticipated film Dhadak on Thursday.
Dhadak is one of the most talked about films of the year - first because it is a Hindi adaptation of Marathi blockbuster 'Sairat' and second because it marks legendary actress Sri Devi's daughter Janhvi and Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan's big Bollywood debuts. Although, Ishaan has previously acted in Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi's 'Beyond the Clouds', it's 'Dhadak' that will eventually establish him as a mainstream actor in the Hindi Film industry.
The film's trailer and songs have been garnering huge love from all quarters and some have already declared Ishaan and Janhvi's jodi a hit. The latest song 'Pehli Baar', which is a recreation of 'Yad Lagla' from Sairat, packs the innocence, excitement, fear and magic of first love all in one.
Sung by Ajay Gogavale, penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and composed by Ajay-Atul; the over 3-minute-long video focuses more on Ishaan as it musically narattes what a young, innocent, small-town boy feels when he first experiences that emotion called 'love' that too for a girl he believes he can never have.
While the title track celebrated eternal love, 'Pehli Baar' dwells more on the uncertainties of first love. Ishaan Khatter exudes innocence. He somehow manages to display contradicing feelings like that of hopelessness and love in single frame. Janhvi makes her presence felt despite having just a single dialogue in the song.
The use of flute gives the otherwise playful notes of the song the much-needed thairaav.

Produced under Karan Johar's esteemed banner of Dharma Productions, Dhadak is directed by Shashank Khaitan who has box-office hits like 'Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania' and 'Badri Ki Dulhania' to his credit. The romantic drama will hit the screens on July 20, 2018.
