Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor bond over 'Veere Di Wedding'

Veere Di Wedding, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania in the leads has been gathering pretty good response at the box office. The film managed to rake in a total of Rs 22.95 crore in the first two days of its release and went on to become the third highest opener of the year so far, with an all female cast. Sonam, who plays Avni in the film, took to her social media accounts to share the good news and wrote, "Veere Di Wedding opens to 10.70 Crores on day 1! Third highest opener this year for a film without a hero and an adult rating! Clearly, the future is female!”. And guess what? Deepika Padukone replied to the post writing, “Congratulations!& can’t wait to watch the film!” 

In an industry, where the notion that two actresses can never be friends with each other, has been the order of the day since times immemorial, it'comes as a welcome change to see two top actresses bonding like this. Not many are aware of the fact that both Sonam and Deepika have been pretty good friends at one point of time. In fact, they even appeared together on one of the episodes of Koffee With Karan and the duo spilled quite a lot of beans about Ranbir Kapoor. 

Though, later on, the Sonam had taken a dig at Deepika's style sense and her 'overenthusiastic' PR when she had come to the chat show with her dad Anil Kapoor. But looks like all's well between the two actresses now.

Meanwhile a positive word of mouth seems to be working wonders for Veere Di Wedding. The movie is expected to mint approx Rs 35 crore in its opening weekend. Watch this space...
