Ajay Devgn-Rakul Preet Singh-Tabu starrer De De Pyaar De released in cinemas on Friday i.e. on May 17. The movie was in news after CBFC demanded that the alcohol bottle in the song 'Vaddi Sharaban', held by Rakul Preet, should be replaced with flowers.

A day after the controversy, the movie found its release and was loved by critics. However, despite the good reviews from critics and audiences alike, Ajay Devgn had his lowest opening with De De Pyaar De. The movie, according to a report on Box Office India, managed to collect Rs. 8-8.5 crore net.

De De Pyaar De can be compared to Luka Chuppi first day. Like Kartik Aaryan-Kriti Sanon starrer, Ajay Devgn-Tabu-Rakul Preet Singh's movie is performing better in single screens and multiplexes other than the main ones. However the report also suggests that circuits where Ajay Devgn films perform well are also low with De De Pyaar De.

The weekends, especially Monday, are crucial for the film. De De Pyaar De collections are expected to grow today since it is not a working day for many people. However if De De Pyaar De needs to sustain at the Box Office or be declared a hit, the collections need to double up today. The collections come as a big blow to Ajay Devgn after his last movie Total Dhamaal was one of the biggest hits of 2019.

De De Pyaar De also stars Javed Jaffrey, Jimmy Sheirgill and Alok Nath. Directed by Akiv Ali, De De Pyaar De has been produced by Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety director Luv Ranjan. It is the story of a man who finds love in a younger woman despite having relations with his ex-wife.
