Composed by Amit Trivedi, the lyrics of the song are penned by Shellee. The soft Punjabi words describe how lovers opt for extremes to be with their loved ones. The lyrics go as follows,

Saraa jag chadd ke bass taenu hi hai chuneya

Lakhkh kehya dil nu par fer vi hai adheya

Ho beh gayaa hanjjuaan da daryaa

Terey layi kih kih nahin karyaa

Vekh jittey ji main maryaa

Sung by Ammy Virk and Shahid Mallya (of 'Ikk Kudi' fame from Udta Punjab), the song starts with beautiful notes of tuned percussion that gradually merges with string notes by Sanjoy Das and a touch of soulful flute from Paras Nath. The hook of the song, 'Ho beh gayaa hanjjuaan da daryaa,' packs a punch of high notes from the singers and addition of percussion. Last 35 seconds of the song are pure bliss! Take the song with you sit by the seashore on a mildly rainy day and let it all soak in!

Listen to the song -

Manmarziyaan being an unconventional love triangle, the straight progression of Amit Trivedi's composition suits the contrast.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the movie is produced by Aanand L Rai and Phantom Films. Abhishek Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, and Vicky Kaushal are the lead actors.

Manmarziyaan will hit theatres on September 14.
