'Cricket, jokes and funny incidents': Diljit Dosanjh on breaking the ice with 'Good Newwz' co-star Akshay Kumar

Akshay Kumar for the first time worked with Diljit Dosanjh in the upcoming film, Good Newwz. Both are paired opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan and Kiara Advani respectively. The film is based on the biggest goof-up of sperms getting exchanged during the IVF process of the couples at the hospital. The trailer and the songs have left an impressive mark on everyone and the film is directed by debutant Raj Mehta.

During an interaction with Bombay Times, Diljit revealed how he broke the ice with Akshay while shooting for Good Newwz. The Punjabi superstar stated, "I remember that I gave my shot and sat in my place. Main darta nahi kisise lekin Akshay paaji ka fan bhi hoon aur unki badi respect bhi hai. Senior hain, experience wale hain. Toh main apni jagah jaake baith gaya. He came to me and said, ‘Tu last time kab bola tha?’ I responded, ‘Paaji, abhi scene mein bola na.’ We laughed and broke the ice in a fun manner, and that’s thanks to him."

Diljit added, "Cricket, jokes and funny incidents happened a lot after that. Somehow, while doing some of the funniest acts on-screen, we could control our laughter, but we couldn’t do that off-camera. I also had a great laugh when I was dubbing my parts. In fact, I laughed at a lot while dubbing for many of my scenes. I saw myself and said, ‘Yeh kya kar raha hai, yaar’."

Good Newwz is slated to release on December 27, 2019.
