Zayed Khan is gearing up for his small screen debut, a 38-episode thriller also starring Vatsal Seth and Nikita Nanda. The show will be produced and directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, who says that it wasn’t difficult to convince the actor to make the transition from cinema to television. “Firstly, Zayed is an actor totally open to all kinds of medium. Secondly, I have never treated television as secondary or a poor man’s medium. In our country, actors are known to see television as stepping stone to cinema. To me, both mediums are equally important,” says Siddharth who has given biggies like Sanjeevani and Katha Sagar to the small screen. About the upcoming thriller, the director of Rani Mukerji’s comeback film Hichki under the Yash Raj Films banner says,“It’s a new kind of thriller that’s never been attempted before. We have the basic outline ready for every episode of the finite serial. This is the way to work on TV and not allow serials to drag their feet for years.”
