CONFIRMED: '83' to release in theatres during Christmas 2020; here's when 'Sooryavanshi' will hit the screens

A lot has been discussed about the release dates of Sooryavanshi and 83 directed by Rohit Shetty and Kabir Khan respectively. The original release dates of the films were - Sooryavanshi in March and 83 in April this year. However, due to the coronavirus lockdown, it was postponed indefinitely. Soon after it was announced that the theatres will reopen from October 15, 2020, fans have been waiting for these two films to be out soon. 

Now as per reports in Mumbai Mirror, 83 is slated to release during Christmas weekend this year. While Sooryavanshi has been pushed to Republic Day 2021 weekend. Confirming the same, Shibasish Sarkar, CEO, Reliance Entertainment told the tabloid, "We definitely don’t want to change the date of 83 for Sooryavanshi. The sports drama is still slated to release on Christmas. We have to decide on the new date of Sooryavanshi with the director and actor, but the film should release between January and March."

The makers of 83 and Sooryavanshi are yet to make the official announcement.

Talking about 83, the film stars Ranveer Singh in the leading role along with Deepika Padukone, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Jiiva, Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Nishant Dahiya, Sahil Khattar and Amrita Puri.

While Sooryanvanshi has Akshay Kumar in the titular role and Katrina Kaif as the female lead. 

Both the films are highly-anticipated and crowd puller due to which the makers decided to release it only on the big screens unlike taking the OTT route.
