Buzz is: Siddharth Malhotra approached to join Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan in 'Aankhen 2'?

Ever since the sequel to to Aankhen has been announced with the return of Amitabh Bachchan as the antagonist, the excitement among the fans is quite palpable. Saif Ali Khan, Paresh Rawal and Jacqueline Fernandez too have been almost roped in for Aankhen 2, which is to be directed by Anees Bazmee. 

Now turns out that there's one more character in the sequel for which the makers are looking for a gen-y star. A report on Pinkvilla suggests that Anees Bazmee has approached Sidharth Malhotra for the said part. Apparently, Sidharth is in talks with the director as of now and it's not confirmed at this stage whether he'll be joining the rest of the cast. 

It has been quoted in the report, "Sid and Bazmee have had a few meetings and they both wanted to collaborate on a film together. Although there's another comedy that Anees wants Sid to do for him, that's a solo-hero project. But right now, he wants the actor to take up Aankhen 2. It's an important character and Sid has also shown interest. Once he returns after completing his Shershaah schedule, he will sit for a narration and take a final call on the same."

On the work front, as of now Anees Bazmee is shooting for the comedy Pagalpanti with John Abraham, Anil Kapoor and others while Sidharth has begun filming for the Vikram Batra biopic titled Shershaah along with Kiara Advani. Sidharth has already wrapped up the shooting of his two upcoming projects - Jabariya Jodi and Marjaavaan. In case he does give his nod to Aankhen 2, then he's likely to begin shooting for it by the end of this year or in early 2020.
