Farhan Akhtar, does not have time to even think about Don 3, which might not even star Shah Rukh Khan, till the end of 2020
Farhan Akhtar had excitedly announced that he is working on Don 3 long back. However while the movie was in the scripting stage, there were reports about who the cast would be. The latest reports suggested that Shah Rukh Khan, who has been involved with the project since the start, is not too keen to work on the movie.
However a new report on Asian Age claims that after Shah Rukh Khan's exit, Farhan Akhtar too is not very keen on working towards the film. More so with his schedule, shooting for Toofan, The Sky Is Pink promotions and music tours, he does not have time to even think about Don 3 till the end of 2020.
“These stories about this and the other actors taking over the Don baton are so out of line. Farhan Akhtar (also the director of the Don series) has no script, not even an idea for a plot to do another film. He’s busy with his acting and music career. He hasn’t directed any film for the last nine years. His last directorial was Don 2 in 2011. It looks like the Don series is dead,” an industry source told the Asian Age.
A close-director friend of Farhan also happened to mention, “I don’t see any inclination in Farhan to direct a film at this point of his life. Right now he’s busy prepping for the role of his lifetime as a boxer in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Toofan. That will keep him busy this year and most of 2020. Before that, he has just completed another acting role in Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink. Where do you see direction fitting into his schedule?”
When the daily contacted Farhan's partner Ritesh Sidhwani, he too maintained a silent stand. Can this silence mean that Don 3 has been pushed indefinitely and might not happen in the near future?
