For the past few days, Bobby Deol has been busy rehearsing for an awards show where he will perform after a gap of seven years. But the actor isn’t nervous. “I believe I have nothing to lose and only have things to gain now. I just have to work towards that,” he says.

However, he admits that there will be a nervous energy when he’s about to go up there in front of the audience. “That’s just how it is, no matter how many times you have gone on stage. There is an anxiousness to perform well,” he adds.

Now it’s a given, that among the medley of his earlier hit tracks, it will be Race 3’s numbers, including Selfish and Party Chale On, which will see the Deol boy set the stage on fire with an electrifying act. The movie, which is doing immensely well, also happens to be Bobby’s entry into the Rs 100 crore club and the actor says he couldn’t be happier. “It’s just amazing when you get appreciation for your hard work. People have genuinely liked it and that makes me feel good. It inspires me to do better,” he says with a smile.

For the actor, who put in a tremendous effort into his physical transformation, the real reward was to stay true to people’s expectations from him. “I didn’t want to let the audience down and I’m happy that I have moved in the right direction in life as an actor. I’m hoping this brings in better work for me,” he adds. While his mother has seen the film and loved it, papa Dharmendra and brother Sunny are yet to do so. “My brother has been busy with his son’s debut, but he called to say he was happy for me. My dad is also happy. They have seen my hard work and are glad that after a long time, I am so focused,” he says. With Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se coming up next, is this going to be Bobby Deol’s year? “I just hope that every film that I do, takes me forward. It doesn’t matter if a movie doesn’t do well. I will try and do a better job next time,” signs off the new and improved Bobby.
