It's time to do the bhangra with a twist...
After giving us the ultra glam and high on oomph Tareefan, the makers of Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania starrer Veere Di Wedding have given us another party number to dance to, at the pre-wedding celebrations in Bhangra Ta Sajda. The track is a recreated version of a desi Bhangra song with a twist.
More than this Punjabi party number, our eyes can't get enough of the gorgeous attires worn by the leading ladies in the song. All four of them can be seen clad in embellished ethnic ensembles with an amazing twist. While Kareena's choli gets flared sleeves, Sonam's gets heavy mirror work. Swara teams her cut off shoulder choli with a pair of denim jacket while Shikha sports a jacketed one piece.
Everything from their respective hairstyles to the accessories (we're totally digging Kareena's maangtikka and th earrings of the remaining ladies), are bang on point and gives a refreshing twist to the usual glitzy outfits that we see at weddings. Full marks to the stylist for giving us new goals and ideas to stand out at the celebrations this wedding season.
Now coming to the song, Bhangra Ta Sajda appears to be a song that, we're guessing, takes place during one of the pre-wedding functions of Kareena, since she's the one who's about to get married in the film. A few moments in the song totally steal the show, like the one where Kareena becomes nostalgic on seeing visuals of four school friends dancing crazily.
While both Kareena and Sonam are fab dancers and they do impress us with their Bhangra moves, it's Shikha Talsania and Swara Bhasker who totally slay it on the dance floor. Especially, in a few shots where Swara and Shikha are seen completely letting go of their inhibitions and dancing crazily like no one's watching. It's a surprise to see Swara in this never-before-seen glam doll avatar. We love you Kareena and Sonam but we feel Shikha and Swara probably had more fun while shooting for this one.
Bhangra Ta Sajda has been written by Gaurav Solanki and composed by Shashwat Sachdev. You might remember Shashwat from the folksy music album of Anushka Sharma's Phillauri. Veere Di Wedding happens to be his second Bollywood project and he shows immense range in his compositions. We only hope that Bhangra Ta Sajda was a little more energetic in terms of the tempo. If you just listen to the song sans the visuals, you might be a little underwhelmed. Phillauri's Dum Dum and Sahiba fame singer Romy croons Bhangra Ta Sajda along with Neha Kakkar, Surya Ragunaathan and Shashwat Sachdev himself and they all do a decent job at that.

Veere Di Wedding has been directed by Shashanka Ghosh. The film, which has the tagline #ImNotAChickFlick, hits the theatres on June 1.
