Batti Gul Meter Chalu to reunite Shahid Kapoor with 'brother' Samir Soni after Vivah

After bagging the role of a principal in Student Of The Year 2, Samir Soni is joining the cast of Batti Gul Meter Chalu, albeit in a cameo role. The actor will play an industrialist who owns the electricity business. The film’s story revolves around a  man who kills himself because of electricity issues and the buck stops at the owner, whether he is responsible or not.

“I play an industrialist a la the Ambanis, and he is the key witness in the case,” shares Samir, who will start shooting for the climax today along with Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam. Shahid and Yami are lawyers, while Shraddha plays the former’s love interest. “I look forward to working with Shahid after Vivah. I’m fond of him and we share an excellent rapport. I feel he still hasn’t got his due for the talent he possesses,” Samir says.
