New song from Batti Gul Meter Chalu was released on Monday evening. The song composed by Rochak Kohli, 'Dekhte Dekhte' is a recreation of one of the classics by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Atif Aslam took the challenge of singing the Bollywood rendition and seems to have done a good job of it.
'Dekhte Dekhte' is a sombre follow up to the funky beats of the song 'Gold Tamba.'
The song captures the beauty of Uttarakhand and the pain of a broken heart in bold panoramic shots. When the montage cuts to the lead pair of Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, we see glimpses of the innocence of the budding love story.
The lyrics of the song are reworked by Manoj Muntashir.
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's version went like this -
Main to is vaste chup hoon k Tamasha na bane
Tu smjhta hai mujhe tujhse gila kuch bhi nahi
While Manoj Muntashir's words go -
Rajj ke rulaaya
Rajj ke hansaya
Maine dil kho ke ishq kamaya
Maanga jo usne ek sitara
Humne zameen pe chaand bulaya
