Badhaai Ho director Amit Sharma, in a recent interview, pointed fingers at Salman Khan and Sohail Khan starrer Tubelight and called it an overrated film saying that he would have done a better job of directing it. He was talking about it in Zee Cafe's show Starry Nights Gen Y and was answering a question when he was asked to name a recent overrated film that he has watched and one film that he would have directed better, BollywoodLife reported.

For the uninformed, Tubelight was directed by Kabir Khan who had collaborated with Salman in two films before this including Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Ek Tha Tiger. The film was based on the 2015 film Little Boy and was reimagined against the backdrop of the India-China war of 1962.

Amit's film Badhaai Ho was one of the most successful films of 2019, speaking about it, he said, "The one thing I knew about the movie was that it was a beautiful script and I have to do justice to this. My background is advertising and because of this, I keep looking for ideas. I never really thought that a certain thing wouldn't work because 'Badhai Ho' had a lot of big ideas."

Amit was further also questioned about the one rumour about his Badhai Ho lead actor Ayushmann Khurrana that he would like to spread, to which he said, "It would be that he is the wittiest, and has a mindblowing sense of humour. He has got a plethora of jokes that are amazing."
