Bachchan family health updates: Abhishek Bachchan returns home after testing negative for COVID-19

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan had tested positive for COVID-19, and was admitted to Nanavati hospital with son Abhishek Bachchan. The actor took to microblogging website Twitter on Saturday, July 11, to confirm the news and urged people who have been in close proximity with him to get themselves tested. "I have tested CoviD positive ..  shifted to Hospital  .. hospital informing  authorities .. family and staff undergone tests , results awaited .. All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested !" read his tweet.

Abhishek had tweeted, "Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you. The BMC has been in touch and we are complying with them." 

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Aaradhya Bachchan were also tested. Aishwarya and Aaradhya had also tested positive and were also admitted to Nanavati hospital, but they are now back home after testing negative. A few days later, Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were also discharged from the hospital. Meanwhile, Jaya Bachchan, Shweta Bachchan Nanda, Navya Naveli Nanda and Adgasthya Nanda had tested negative for COVID-19.

Abhishek Bachchan has been discharged from the hospital after testing negative for COVID-19. He wrote on his Twitter page, "A promise is a promise! This afternoon I tested Covid-19 NEGATIVE!!! I told you guys I’d beat this. Thank you all for your prayers for me and my family. My eternal gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Nanavati hospital for all that they have done. THANK YOU!".

Meanwhile he wrote on his Instagram page, "I TOLD YOU!!! Discharge plan: YES!! This afternoon I tested Covid-19 NEGATIVE. Thank you all for your prayers and wishes. I’m so happy to be able to go home. #believe My eternal gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Nanavati Hospital for taking such good care of me and my family and helping us beat Covid-19. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Aaradhya have been discharged from the hospital after testing negative for COVID-19. The same happened a day after the Bachchan bungalow Jalsa was no longer in containment zone. Abhishek confirmed Aishwarya and Aaradhya's discharge from the hospital with a tweet which read, "Thank you all for your continued prayers and good wishes. Indebted forever. Aishwarya and Aaradhya have thankfully tested negative and have been discharged from the hospital. They will now be at home. My father and I remain in hospital under the care of the medical staff."
