R Balki is the husband of filmmaker Gauri Shinde and has directed films like Pa, Cheeni Kum.
R Balki in a recent interview with a tabloid had said that the argument around nepotism may be valid and star kids might have an upper hand but pointed out that there are no better actors than Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. As the statement made headline, Bulbbul actor took to his Twitter account and called out the director's narrow vision saying, "Dear #RBalki Sir, you would not know of the better Actors if they are not given an opportunity and you don't step out to watch them."

A Twitter user commented on Avinash's post and said, "Love you and Tripti, but Ranbir and Alia are the better actors today. That could be due to more opportunities, but it is a fact!" Avinash in a subsequent tweet replied, "They are absolutely brilliant! But to say that there are no other actors beyond nd better is a statement which can only be verified if enough opportunities are given to others..."
Not only that, but write Apurva Asrani also replied to him and wrote on his social media platform, "Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Vicky Kaushal, Ayushmann, Kangana Ranaut, Priyanka Chopra, Taapsee Pannu, Vidya Balan, Richa Chaddha. Many others too if we look beyond A list film families, and take a few chances. I love Ranbir & Alia, but please, they aren't the only good actors."
