Anushka Sharma to make a web series on cops

When we interviewed Anushka Sharma for Sui Dhaaga: Made In India, the talented actress had mentioned to us that her home banner would shortly get into producing a web series. At that juncture, she was not keen on us mentioning it. However, now we hear that her brother Karnesh Sharma and she are ready to roll with their first digital show. A source said, “Anushka is expanding the scope of her company from just being a film production studio and foraying into other areas as well. The web series, which is a gripping cop drama, is in collaboration with an international streaming giant. The brother-sister duo has teamed up with Sudeep Sharma (the acclaimed writer of films like NH10 and Udta Punjab) to pilot this project.”

While the Pari actress will back it, she won’t be acting in it, thereby establishing Clean Slate Films’ stature as a firm that is a destination for creative talents to produce fresh stories. “Anushka and her brother have shown that they will break new ground with the content that comes out of their production house. She is driven by strong ideas that make for engaging, disruptive yet hugely entertaining cinema and wants it to resonate these values,” the informer adds.
