Anushka Sharma has always maintained that following a brief on a character she essays is of utmost importance to her. Little wonder then that she is surprising cinegoers with her realistic looks in her forthcoming films. Anushka is experimenting with looks that blend seamlessly with her character.
In her upcoming horror film Pari (also her production), she plays two characters. Anushka has ensured through her make-up that she looks like the sad girl battling unknown fears. In keeping with her other character with a scarred, injured and tortured face, she has spared no effort either.
Then, in her next movie, Sui Dhaaga, Anushka has transformed into Mamta, a small-town embroidery worker, complete with a synthetic sari, cardigan, high sindoor, bindi and uneven eyebrows and skin tone.
Shedding all concerns of being glamorous, the actress, who played a simple pony-tailed wrestler in Sultan and the smart, sassy journalist in PK, chooses to give in to the demands of a character’s look. She continues to push the envelope in transforming into the person she is essaying in front of the camera.
