Ananya Panday on 'Student Of The Year 2': We are not trying to be role models

Ananya Panday believes her debut film 'Student of the Year 2' will prove to be a stress-buster for the youth.

Talking about the film at the launch of 'The Jawaani Song', Ananya said, “When we are in school, we have a lot of pressure. There is a lot of stuff going on, so when people go to watch movies, they want to escape from that. We are providing an escape for them through this movie. We are not trying to be role models, we are just trying to provide them a moment of happiness and joy to get away from this stress.”

'The Jawaani Song' is the recreated version of the song 'Gili-Gili Akkha' from the 1972 film 'Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani'. The song was originally penned by Anand Bakshi, composed by RD Burman and sung by the legendary Kishore Kumar. The new version is composed by Vishal and Shekhar and sung by Vishal Dadlani and Payal Dev.

'Student of the Year 2' is the sequel to the 2012 hit 'Student of The Year', which marked the Bollywood debut of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra. Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey will be making their Bollywood debut in 'Student of the Year 2'.

Helmed by Punit Malhotra, the film is set to hit the screens on May 10.
