Amrita Singh called Saif Ali Khan to tell him she doesn't appreciate his comments about Sara Ali Khan's acting debut

Saif Ali Khan, in an interview to this paper, admitted that he was nervous about his daughter choosing acting as a career. It’s a natural emotion for any parent. Even Sridevi, whose daughter Janvi will be making her acting debut shortly, has admitted that she would’ve preferred her daughter choosing marriage over acting. 

However, Amrita Singh was livid when she read what Saif said about Sara’s decision to join films. Not one to take what she considered a damaging statement, lying down, Saif’s former better half, Amrita, slammed her ex-husband. Says a source, “She told him it was an irresponsible thing to say considering Sara is about to embark on  a film career.” The insider adds, “Saif didn’t want to be dragged into an argument, so he mumbled that he was ‘quoted out of context’ and calmed down his former wife.”

What followed

Soon after the phone call, Saif was at a press conference when he was asked about Sara’s debut again. He explained, “I love my daughter, support her and I think her choice is great. Of course, she is an actress, she belongs to a family of artistes, which is great, but I am still a little concerned for her as it is an unsure profession. Because I love her, I worry for her. That’s all I am saying. Is that clear? People write things like, ‘He doesn’t know what he is saying. He doesn’t know his mind.’ I find that annoying.” Karan Johar who was present at the event, supported Saif’s statement.
