Happy Women's Day!
Updated : Mar 08, 2018, 04:35 PM IST
It's March, which is celebrated as International Women's Day across the globe. Though, on this day, one lauds the achievements and contributions of women in their respective area of interests or for the betterment of the society but one actually doesn't need to do that on just one day of the entire year. This can an should be done throughout the year, whenever any woman achieves something.
One must accept that we have a long way to go, in terms of battling age-old social evils against women like gender bias, pay-parity, discrimination, crimes against women and the list goes on. But we must also acknowledge that times are changing and at least a dialogue has been initiated around these very topics. There are men standing up for women and there are women surpassing men in almost every possible field.
On the occasion of International Women's Day. Bollywood celebrities took to their social media accounts to hail women power and celebrate the spirit of womanhood with though provoking messages. While Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar lent their support to women's causes, Kajol's unique Women's Day wish has left us in splits of laughter.
