Amitabh Bachchan shares history of his Jalsa bungalow as 'Chupke Chupke' clocks 46 years

It's been 46 years since Hrishikesh Mukherjee hit comedy film Chupke Chupke released. The film has an ensemble cast including Dharmendra, Sharmila Tagore, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Om Prakash among others. As the film clocked these many years of its release, Big B took to his social media and blog pages to share an interesting anecdote about the film. On his Instagram page, the legendary actor shared a still with his wife Jaya from Chupke Chupke where they were paired opposite each other.

Bachchan got nostalgic and revealed that the house shown in the film is his now home Jalsa. The caption read as "Chupke Chupke our film by Hrishikesh MUKERJI... closing today at 46 years...!!! This house you see in the picture is Producer NC Sippy’s house... we bought it, then sold it, then bought it back again... rebuilt it... this is our home now JALSA!!! Many films were shot here... Anand, Namak Haram, Chupke Chupke, Satte pe Satta and many more..."

Meanwhile, on his blog, Amitabh Bachchan penned more details stating, ".. the great Hrishikesh Mukerjee and the most number of films that I did with him, perhaps now Ramu - Ram Gopal Varma has overtaken him - and this from Chupke Chupke... this house that you see in the picture with Jaya is now Jalsa... it was the home of Producer NC Sippy, was bought by us then sold, bought again rebuilt and became Jalsa... renamed after it was first called Mansa... Mansa the Mother of this generational family of the Father... the originator of this legacy of Bachchan... not the Mother but perhaps the great-great-grandmother... Tradition must be given respect dignity and honour... Mansa changed to be named Jalsa and the lawn behind Jalsa, a small lawn, acquired later, has been named Mansa..."
