In the wee hours of Monday, after the Visarjan ceremonies marked the conclusion of the 11-day Ganesh Utsav, Amit Sadh joined the volunteers to help clean the Juhu Beach. The Sarkar 3 actor arrived on his pro-racing cycle to participate in DNA’s eco-Ganesha initiative, putting away the debris, flowers, etc that had been washed ashore.

“The eco-friendly way to celebrate the festival is a good beginning. That these students have come at 3 am to put their efforts in keeping the environment clean, says a lot about the future of our country and a city that I’m a part of. I’m glad I could come here and be with these beautiful and hard-working young leaders, initiators and influencers of modern-day India. There is a lot to be done. I’m happy with the youth of the city, and the fact that the country is a lot more empowered and more aware. I’m proud of these youngsters who have come here to clean the beach,” he said.

When pointed out that a large section of the population is yet to adopt the eco-friendly way of celebrations, Amit added, “There are two ways to look at it. One is to say that it’s a small percentage of people that’s following this; the other is to see that something good has begun. I’m an eternal optimist, so for me, the enthusiasm of these young kids is great. It will be in safe hands. But we need more such hands to clean the dirt and keep our city and country clean.”

After the clean-up, the actor posed for pictures with the volunteers, before pedalling away on his racing cycle.
