On Tuesday, the Cine and Television Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) shared on their official Twitter handle that they have expelled actor Alok Nath from their association. The actor has been accused of harassing several actors and raping director and producer Vinta Nanda. Vinta has recently come out with her story after a long wait of 20 years. She accused Alok Nath of rape and constant sexual harassment under intoxication.

Several other women and co-stars, including Soni Razdan, backed her allegations and shared their accounts of misconduct by the 'Sanskaari' actor.

CINTAA called for a meeting with the accussed and the accuser on Tuesday. While Nanda shared her horrific experiences, Nath chose to skip the meeting and remained absent from any confrontation. Post this, the association took the decision of expelling him. This can also lead to the end of his acting career.

"In view of the various allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct against Mr. Alok Nath, after due diligence and consideration, the Exec. Committee of #cintaa has decided to expel him from the Association," the official statement read.

According to ANI, Nath has been asked to appear during the Annual General Meeting on May 1 and if he fails to appear for the same, he'll be permanently expelled, said the Sr Joint Secretary of Committee of Cine and TV Artistes' Association.
