Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar's 2017 film 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' not only raked in moolah at the box office but also gave out an important social message. After being received well by the Indian audience, the film is all set to hit theatres in China on June 8th.

This is going to be Akshay Kumar's first release in China and has been rechristened as 'Toilet Hero' for release in 4300 screens.  That's a quite a huge number of screens for the smallest Indian release in China so far. As Bajrangi Bhaijaan got the biggest release in China so far with more than 8000 screen count, Baahubali 2 also got a huge release with 7000 plus screens. Aamir Khan films have also got a wider release in China as more than 7000 screens were alloted to Dangal and even Secret Superstar followed suit with 6000 screens.

Akshay Kumar is excited about his fresh beginning at Chinese box office and tweeted, "Delighted that our film #ToiletEkPremKatha is continuing to break new grounds and is all set to release as "Toilet Hero" across 4300 screens in China on 8th June."

Based on a real-life story, Toilet Ek Prem Katha tackles the issue of open defecation in the country and was also awarded the National Award in Best Choreography category for Ganesh Acharya.
