Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan starrer 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa' gets a sequel

Akshay Kumar starred currently has a lot of films in his kitty. The handsome actor kickstarted 2019 with Kesari which released in March. He will next be seen in Mission Mangal which is slated to release on August 15, 2019. Soon after that, Akshay has Housefull 4 which is set to be a Diwali 2019 release. The actor will be ending the year with Good News which is hitting the screens on December 27, 2019.

These are just the films which will release this year. Akshay has signed up many projects and added one more to his filmography which is a sequel. Yes, we are talking about the second instalment of Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise. The 51-year-old actor will again play the lead in the sequel of 2007 horror-comedy which was helmed by Priyadarshan. As per reports in Mumbai Mirror, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 will be helmed by Farhad Samji.

Talking about the same, a source stated to the tabloid, "Bhushan wanted to make a part 2 of Bhool Bhulaiyaa for a while now and has cracked an idea with Farhad Samji, who will be writing and directing the film. It is in the development stage and will feature a fresh cast. Once the final script is locked, the team will kick off casting and other pre-production formalities."

Apart from Akshay, Bhool Bhulaiyaa starred Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja in the lead roles. Bhool Bhulaiyaa was a remake of 1993 Malayalam film titled Manichitrathazhu which starred Mohanlal, Shobana and Suresh Gopi in the lead roles. Before the Hindi remake, the blockbuster film has been remade in several languages.
